Full Circle Wool
Wool Dish Sponges, Set of 2
Wool Dish Sponges, Set of 2
A dish sponge made of wool, with nothing synthetic in it.
Two 5 x 5 inch sponges of 100% wool. Full Circle Wool says they shrink with first use to the size of a regular sponge and get a little more scrubby over time, so do not cut them.
- 100% wool, from Ferndale Farms in Northern California
- Set of 2, 5 x 5 inches each
- Rinse with dish soap and warm water, squeeze out and lay flat to dry. Not for the washing machine.
- Full Circle Wool says most people report six months to a year per sponge
- Breaks down in a home compost pile at the end of its life (not certified compostable)
- Wool, so not vegan
The maker
Full Circle Wool is run by Marie Hoff in Shasta County, California, who started it in 2013 and still raises her own Ouessant sheep. Fibershed's producer directory lists Full Circle Wool as sourcing Climate Beneficial™ fiber, and Full Circle Wool says the wool is washed with no added chemical treatments and processed in the western United States.
Why it is on our shelf
A kitchen sponge with a named ranch behind it and nothing synthetic in it, from a maker who still raises her own sheep.
The swap
A wool sponge in place of a synthetic one. Full Circle Wool says wool, a natural fiber, sheds no microplastics.
Small choices add up.
